TradeLayout ("we," "us") builds a visual strategy-building, backtesting, and live-trading platform for Indian equity and derivatives markets. This policy explains what we collect when you use tradelayout.com and the app, why we collect it, and what control you have over it.
Account information
When you sign up, authentication is handled by Supabase Auth. We store your name, your mobile number, an email address if you provide one, and a unique account identifier. There is no password on your account: each sign-in is verified with a one-time code sent to your number, or through Google if you choose that instead. One-time codes are delivered on our behalf by MSG91, which receives your mobile number and the code for that purpose only.
Broker connections
To backtest or trade live, you connect a supported broker account (for example Zerodha, Angel One, Upstox, 5paisa, Alice Blue, Dhan, Fyers, or IIFL) through that broker's own login and OAuth flow. We store the resulting API key or access token only to place, modify, and monitor orders on your behalf, exactly as instructed by the strategies you build and run. We never see your broker password. Your trading relationship — margin, execution, settlement — remains directly between you and your broker; TradeLayout only sends the instructions your strategy logic produces.
Strategy and trading data
Strategies you build, backtest results, and live/paper trading activity are stored in our database (Supabase) tied to your account, so you can return to them across sessions and devices. We use this data to run the product — we don't sell it, and we don't use the contents of your strategies to trade for anyone else.
Payments
Subscription payments are processed by Razorpay. TradeLayout does not receive or store your card, UPI, or bank account details — Razorpay handles that directly and shares with us only what's needed to activate your plan (amount, plan, payment status).
How you use TradeLayout (service records)
To support you and to fix and improve the product, we keep a record of how you use TradeLayout: the pages you open and how long you stay, the buttons and links you click (by their label), forms you submit (by name only), errors you see on screen, and what happens in the platform — backtests, paper and live sessions started or stopped, broker connections, and the steps of building a strategy. We never record what you type into a field (passwords, one-time codes, phone numbers, API keys), your broker credentials, login tokens, or payment details. Before you sign up these records carry a random browser identifier, which is linked to your account when you register, together with the site or campaign that brought you.
These records are stored on our own cloud storage (Amazon Web Services, Mumbai region), encrypted, visible only to our team for support and product improvement, kept for one year, and never sold or used for advertising.
AI strategy assistant
When you build or change a strategy with our AI assistant, we keep the conversation — what you asked, the questions the assistant asked and your answers, the strategies it built and the checks run on them, and any 👍/👎 rating or comment you give a build — and link it to the strategy you save. We use these conversations to improve the assistant and our strategy checks. Phone numbers, e-mail addresses, PAN, Aadhaar and card numbers in your messages are masked before they are stored. Conversations are kept after you delete a strategy, for this purpose; if you ask us to delete your account, they are kept only with your identity removed. The assistant is powered by Google Gemini, which receives your messages to answer them.
What we don't do
We don't sell your personal data or your strategy logic to third parties. We don't share your broker credentials with anyone outside the request needed to place your own orders.
Your choices
You can disconnect a broker at any time from Broker Connections in the app, which revokes our stored access token. You can request a copy of your account data or ask us to delete your account by writing to the contact below — we'll retain only what we're required to keep for tax, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you by email.
